Alma Inn Laneshawbridge Wedding Photography

I headed over the hills to Lancashire for this Alma Inn Laneshawbridge wedding. Lauren and Matt got engaged in 2017 in the Dominican Republic, which gave them just one year to pull together their dream wedding. Tucked away in the Pendle Hills the Alma Inn is a ‘proper’ country pub with exposed beams and huge fireplaces (not that we had a fire lit in June), it’s lovely.

Lauren and her two bridesmaids were getting ready at the Alma Inn. When I arrived everyone was super chilled and it was pretty quiet as they all got their hair and makeup done. Once the fizz was popped and the alcohol started flowing Lauren’s hilarious bridesmaids started cracking rude jokes and told us some stories that I definitely can’t repeat here! It was so funny and just what Lauren needed to calm any pre-ceremony nerves! I want to thank them both for keeping me super entertained during the meal too.. SO. FUNNY.

An Intimate Wedding Ceremony

This was a lovely, intimate wedding with just 40 guests, made up of their closest friends and family. Drinks were served out on the Inn’s terrace after the ceremony. The moments after the ceremony are always some of my favourites. Everyone is congratulating the couple and there are so many hugs! They always make for some fab photos!

After some drinks and canapes (yum!) I snuck away with Lauren and Matt. I always make sure we head slightly away from guests when we do portraits. It stops any good natured heckling and gives the couple a chance to have some much needed time alone together. I love how adventurous and up for things all my couples are. Lauren and Matt broke into a field with me to get their relaxed portriats, it was worth it as you can see! Luckily Lauren had already changed into flats after lasting about half an hour in her heels. Just like me, give me trainers and boots over heels any day!

I always try and break up portraits into two sessions, that way my couples don’t miss out on loads of their day. After the speeches we had a wander round the country lanes for some more pictures before heading back to the party. Speaking of the party, after the first dance everyone hit the dancefloor and Lauren’s super talented family formed a band. They played throughout the evening and kept everyone dancing. They were so good!

Lauren and Matt, I loved photographing your Alma Inn wedding. These are some of my favourites from the day 🙂
