Yorkshire Wedding Photography in 2019

Happy new year guys! I’m slowly easing myself back into work after Christmas and looking forward to the months ahead. I’ve got so many adventures planned, including weddings all over the UK and can’t wait to see what else the year has in store. If you want to follow me on my travels then head over to Instagram. I’ll be putting loads of updates (and cat pictures!) on there.

2019’s wedding season kicks off in March at Middleton Lodge. I’m so excited to shoot my first wedding there! In the meantime I’m working hard behind the scenes at Stevie Jay HQ and looking back at the incredible days I was lucky enough to be a part of in 2018. I’m kicking off January’s blogs with this cracking Chilli Barn wedding.

Meet Mat and Christine. These guys are utterly adorable and I don’t think they ever stop smiling and laughing together. Relationship goals! Set in the rugged Yorkshire hills (always great for a dramatic backdrop) Chilli Barn was the perfect wedding venue for these two. It’s nice and intimate (holds up to 60 guests!) and importantly, close to the airport so that Christine’s Irish family could fly in for the wedding. I love the fact that they only serve veggie food on site too!

I’m a big fan of unique weddings and these two had made sure that their day was completely personal to them. They got rid of loads of standard wedding traditions (who needs a first dance when you’ve been jigging to an Irish band for most of the day?!) and made sure that they spent lots of time with their loved ones. It was perfect! Mat helped Christine pick her dress and they kept bumping into each other as they got ready in the morning. I love the photo of them having a smooch while Christine is having her hair done!

Patrick (their handsome dog and star of the show) was also pottering around. I may have got slightly overexcited taking photos of him but, oh my DAYS how cute is he?!! Mat and Christine had decided against having bridesmaids and groomsmen but I like to think that Patrick was their honorary Best Man, who sat through the ceremony!

As these two wanted the most chilled out wedding ever they asked me to be a full on Photography Ninja for the day. I was more than happy to oblige! I love capturing all the hugs and smiles – and the drunken dancing! We did sneak away for a few portraits though in the rain. It would have been rude not to make the most of the lovely views!

Mat and Christine, what a day! These are my best bits!

Thankyou to Matt Thompson for second shooting
