Relaxed and Fun Wedding Photographer

Adele and Gareth first enquired with me back in January 2018 when they’d spotted me on Facebook. Their first email said “We’re looking for really relaxed, fun and informal photos – maybe a few posed ones to keep the grandparents happy – but overall we’d just love for the atmosphere to be captured on camera and have lots of fun. The venue we’ve booked is gorgeous and rustic and reflects the relaxed theme we are looking for so we’re hoping for photos that echo this too!” Well of course I was IN! Thank f*ck I was free on their date! This sounded perfect. They sounded perfect.

The day after, they booked. After some light stalking of their venue, Curradine Barns, I was reaaalllyyy looking forward to it!

Yorkshire Sculpture Park Engagement Session

Adele and Gareth wanted to include an engagement session alongside their photography package so we could get to know each other before the day, take some pretty photos and just generally chat weddings! 6 weeks before their wedding they drove up to meet me at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, along with Adele’s Parents and Dog, Hudson! We spent almost 2 hours wandering and chatting and it was here that they told me a little secret. THEY WERE HAVING ALPACAS AT THE WEDDING! OMFGJEUHDNNDKESJJ!!!!!

The Couple’s Engagement Story

On their pre-wedding questionnaire I asked how and where they got engaged. Adele said “Gareth planned a surprise trip to Iceland for the two of us in January ’18, and originally had planned to reveal the trip as my Christmas present in 2017. He’d then planned to propose whilst we were over there. However, in the lead up to Christmas, my brother and his wife flew in for the holidays from Canada. Gareth had a last-minute change of heart and decided to propose Christmas Day, so we could celebrate with our family around us! He pulled my Dad aside Christmas Eve at a family gathering to ask his permission, then he got me out of there sharpish so my dad didn’t give anything away because he’s not great with secrets!!

Gaeth still kept the trip a total surprise and gave me a series of gifts that dropped hints about the trip, leading up to the final giveaway which was. little tour guide book for Reykjavik. He then said “so it thought the trip could be a nice way for us to celebrate”…. I said “celebrate what?” ….and that’s when we whipped the ring box out and said the words!! It was just the two of us Christmas morning, and the dog (who was none the wiser, and seemed genuinely confused as to why I was crying but looked happy…!) so we could have a few hours in our moment together before turning up at my mum and dad’s, seeing all the family and telling them to great news. Best Christmas Day ever!

The other funny thing was, when we got up Christmas morning I was just my usual self completely oblivious to Gareth’s plans and so I dragged him down to our mini-home-gym in our Garage to do a Christmas Day workout (a tradition for us!) …. and I did wonder why he was so quiet during the burpees…. turns out he was really nervous!!

Curradine Barns Wedding Photography

I can’t even tell you how amazing their Curradine Barns wedding was. It was FULL ON EPIC! Adele and Gareth put so much effort into the details and incorporated everything they could to make it “them”. From rose gold geometric shapes, to wild florals and hand drawn place names to boho dresses, they’d thought of everything! It was so hard choosing the images for the blog and trying to keep it to a reasonable length! haha. Scroll down and swoon over the details! Thank you to Andrea Ellison for second shooting with me!

They said “1000/10  We received our photos back just last week, really quickly after our wedding which was amazing. We couldn’t be happier, we are SO in love with the photos and have absolutely adored reliving our special day looking through them! Stevie was absolutely ace on the day, very discrete during the ceremony (and yet somehow managed to capture the most beautiful intimate shots!) and just nailed every picture. We loved seeing all the gorgeous candid ones, moments we missed on the day being swept up in everything – we really will treasure them, and we’re so excited to share them with friends and family too.

It’s wonderful to be have so many pictures of our closest friends and family smiling, laughing and enjoying our day for us to look back on, of course with all of the lovely ones of us too!! Stevie’s style really makes the most of the ‘in the moment’ photos, but she also did a superb job with the handful of group ones we asked for too – she made them fun and captured real energy in them (not just a bunch of boring group pictures!). Looking through them we found ourselves saying ‘I’m so so glad she got a photo of that’ again and again. I honestly don’t know how she managed to be everywhere at once and not miss a thing. I’d recommend her a thousand times over.”
