Grove Hall Pontefract Wedding Photography
I’m so excited to show you Katie and Ross’s Grove Hall Pontefract wedding. The couple found me last year at the Woodside Farm fair I was hosting in the tipis, so I knew they were going to be my type of people! I know we’re all probably getting a bit bored of weather chat but…how hot has it been recently?! We’re actually having a real summer and Katie and Ross’s wedding was right in the middle of it! Blue skies and sunshine all day!
I joined Katie at her AirBnB in Wakefield whilst Matt, my second shooter, headed over to meet the boys at Katie and Ross’ home. I love working with a second photographer as it means that couples are able to see what they each get up to on the morning of their wedding. It also means that there is another angle throughout the ceremony and lots more photos for the couple!
Katie was certainly one nervous bride, pacing up and down until the moment she put her dress on! I fell in love with Katie’s Wed2Be dress as soon as I saw it. The shorter dress was covered by a separate skirt for the day, and then (which was a total surprise to Ross) Katie took off the skirt for the evening and looked amazing in her tea length dress. Scroll down to see the photos from their first dance!
Wakefield Church Ceremony
I love that they’d chosen to get married at Katie’s childhood church. Now wedding ceremonies are pretty emotional at the best of times but there’s always an added bit of ‘something’ when a couple get married somewhere they have a connection to. I loved the moment that Katie arrived at the altar to see Ross, he got a little tearful whilst Katie couldn’t stop giggling! You could see the sigh of relief once they’d left the church and climbed into the VW camper that was taking them to their Grove Hall Pontefract wedding.
Wedding Shenanigans at Grove Hall Pontefract
Katie and Ross had chosen to hold their reception and party at Grove Hall in Pontefract. This is a a really popular Yorkshire wedding venue, mainly because of its beautiful grounds (which we took full advantage of during their portraits). It was the perfect place to hold a June wedding as everyone made the most of the sunshine and spent most of the day out in the gardens. These long summer evenings are great for photographers, we can take lots of couple portraits in the beautiful light and then spend time capturing all the fun the guests are having. One of their friends was a keen magician who entertained everyone with his card tricks and there was a lot of laughter. It was so great to be a part of it!
I was particularly found of the table decorations – green foliage and herbs potted in tea cups! How cute! For anyone that doesn’t know, I’m completely obsessed with growing an indoor garden in my office. I NEED ALL OF THE GREEN STUFF!
Katie and Ross, it’s been so much fun getting to know you both and I loved being your wedding photographer. Here are some of my favourites from your day!
Thankyou to Matt Thompson for second shooting on the day!
