Leeds Wedding Photographer
I’ve got something a little bit different on the blog today, a Leeds wedding photographer ‘s dream! I’m so excited to share this industrial heaven with you! Back in the winter I decided to put together a styled shoot, using some of the best (and coolest!) wedding suppliers in Yorkshire as well as indulging in my love for foliage, cacti and succulents!
I teamed up with fab wedding planner and stylist Emily, from Emily K Weddings and we decided to theme the shoot around the 2017 and 2018 Pantone colours of the year (Greenery and Ultra Violet). They’re in keeping with my foliage and cacti love and are also proving pretty popular in weddings this year. For the venue we wanted to go industrial – think brickwork, graffiti and concrete softened by candles, fairy lights and greenery. After a bit of a hunt Emily found Canal Mills in Leeds and we both knew straight away that she had discovered the perfect place. It’s a vast open space which is normally used for exhibitions and music gigs however the fact that it was a ‘blank canvas’ meant that we could go all out when styling it. The main vibe we wanted to create for the shoot was cool and edgy with a touch of romance and Canal Mills, Leeds fit the bill perfectly! As an added bonus it’s definitely a venue that can be used at any time of the year – which with the temperamental Leeds weather is pretty important!
Canal Mills Wedding Photography
Emily and I knew that we needed a fab team around us to pull off Canal Mills wedding photography and these guys all came together and helped bring our ideas to life. Obviously though none of these images would look as good if it wasn’t for our fab models (and real life couple) Nathan and Georgia. These guys are so in love and were so sweet together on the day. Doesn’t Georgia look stunning in her lace, boho dress by The White Yard? I love a dress with sleeves and a floaty skirt! I also adore Nathan’s suit from Tweed and Groom. His tie brought in the colours of the shoot and added a lovely touch to his suit.
Yorkshire Wedding Suppliers
So, our fab team – firstly Emily is awesome at her job! She goes above and beyond for her couples and it wasn’t any different working with her! Just look at the photos to see all the sheer awesome-ness that she brought to the shoot! From the venue to the gold backdrop she had specifically made and sourcing all the little touches, she has such an incredible eye.
Jo at White Rose Cake Design was one of the first to join us on our styled shoot. Having worked with Jo before, we knew she was going to create something amazing, so we just left her to it! Alison at Flowers From the Garden is another brilliant woman who needs no direction! Literally hand over a brief and she’ll create something stunning right from her very own garden in Slaithwaite. I nearly died from excitement when I saw what she had put together. The way she’d used succulents, flowers and greenery together was so artistic and creative!
Whimsical Wonderland Weddings
I had so much fun being a part of this shoot and these are some of my favourite images from the day! I’m proud to say the Canal Mills wedding styled shoot has also been featured by Whimsical Wonderland Weddings! Being a Leeds wedding photographer means I constantly photograph weddings throughout the whole of Yorkshire and further afield, so if you’re still looking for your photographer, bob me a message and we’ll get this thing started!
