Oakwell Hall Engagement Session
I met with Abbie and Simon for the Oakwell Hall engagement session just a few weeks before they were due to marry at Kings Croft Hotel in Pontefract. We wandered round the grounds and made use of the foliage still available in October. Oakwell Hall was actually pretty quiet when we arrived so we didn’t have anyone disturb us or lurk in the background, which made the two of them relax even more.
Oakwell Hall is a great location for an engagement session as there’s a good selection of foliage, ponds and buildings to use as backdrops. The main building itself along with the barn are both used often for wedding ceremonies and celebrations, with the grounds used daily by dog walkers and families. Every so often there’s mini festivals, wedding fairs and exhibitions to view throughout the year.
Relaxed and Natural Couple Images
The lovely couple were nervous about having their photo’s taken initially, but by the third time I lifted my camera they were totally getting into it with minimal direction! I remember at one point I asked them to stand close together by a bush. They couldn’t have looked any more confused! Haha! Yes, I will ask you to stand under trees, by bushes, and sometimes in bushes during engagements and weddings! Luckily they both left feeling like they’d had a great, relaxed and fun morning. We were certainly looking forward to their wedding day even more! Their Kings Croft, Pontefract wedding can be found HERE.
I can’t wait to shoot more Oakwell Hall engagement sessions during the summer this year. If you’re booked in for an engagement session with me, you must consider Oakwell Hall in Birstall, West Yorkshire!
