Wedding photography at Pennine Manor

I’m so grateful Marissa and Martin invited me to be part of their Pennine Manor wedding. The whole day was filled with laughter and big smiles, despite the heavy rain for most of the day. The two of them decided to have a big celebration at Pennine Manor, just on the outskirts of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, and then tie the knot officially when they arrived back in Australia. Marissa and Martin live in Australia but travelled alllll the way over here to be with friends and family. A group of guests also travelled over too – that’s commitment!

Pennine Manor is only a 20 minute drive from me, so very local indeed. The area the surrounds the hotel is beautiful, so we took full advantage of the beautiful, purple heather once the weather had calmed down.

Crazy cat lady

It has been made clear to me that Marissa and Martin – especially Marissa, are in love with cats! #crazycatlady The two of them were requested to give information about themselves to the celebrant, for her to then read out as part of the ceremony. The two of them (and me!) couldn’t stop laughing when she was reading out all these things about moving away and buying more cats! It certainly made for some funny photos!

Once the ceremony was over, we headed to the bar area for the hugs and thank yous. I kept my eye on the weather and once it had calmed down, we ran outside for five minutes to catch some pretty photo’s of the two of them. The rain didn’t hold off for long, and so it was back inside for more jokes. Round two was much more successful!

The couple kept the Aussie theme during the wedding breakfast and handed everyone a Tim Tam! For those of you that have no idea what that is.. it’s the Australian version of a Penguin biscuit! The speeches kept everyone laughing before it was time for the night do!

Again, a massive thank you to Marissa and Martin for inviting me to be part of their Pennine Manor wedding. I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon! Here’s a small selection of the craziness that happened that day!

Marissa – “My partner and I had the most amazing wedding day, made all the better by Stevie and her AMAZING work. How she managed to capture some of the best most natural photos is beyond my understanding, especially since my partner dislikes his photo being taken. But she did. Thank you Stevie for embracing our crazy. You’ve highlighted it all in the most perfect of ways. You made organising an International wedding that bit easier. You were always available for a chit chat if I ever had any questions leading up to and after the event. Honestly, cannot thank you enough. You will always hold a very special place in my heart and memories, which will live on for some time due to your amazing photos. Thank you!”
