Sheffield Botanical Gardens

Sheffield Botanical Gardens is a beautiful outdoor park area situated near the centre of Sheffield. Towards the top of the gardens is a large greenhouse type building which is home to many species of plants, both big and small, such as cacti, succulents and various bushes and trees. As many of you know I am a MASSIVE fan of lush greenery and will do anything for a photo of a cute plant! My office is now an indoor jungle! 😀 (For photos of this follow me on Instagram – @stevie_Jay_photography)

Boho Wedding Inspiration

I’m totally in love with a boho dress and of course, theme. I wanted to incorporate my love of greenery with a boho look and this is how the Sheffield Botanical Gardens wedding inspiration shoot came about. Between creating a mood board and the actual shoot itself, there was only about 3 weeks, so I knew I had to create something pretty quick! The venue isn’t ideal for a table set up, so a simple 2 model shoot was all I needed – and was more than happy with!

Sourcing the Suppliers

I’d met with models Hannah and David a couple of months previously and knew they’d be perfect for the shots I wanted, so didn’t hesitate to ask. They jumped on board with the idea right away, so it was just a case of choosing a date that suited us. This happened to be the week before Christmas! Cold? Yes! I then asked Alison at Flowers From the Garden, Slaithwaite if she wanted to provide a bouquet and flower crown for us. I was very happy that she wanted to be part of the boho shoot too as her flowers and creations are just beautiful! Last on the list was Claire from The White Yard, Barnsley. Claire let us borrow a stunning, backless lace dress from the Willowby collection at Watters bridal. The dress had never been shot before with Claire, so I was super excited to get my hands on a brand new dress! She was also kind enough to lend us a suit from her sister business, Tweed and Groom. The navy Herbie Frogg suit was teamed with a cute liberty print bow tie and handkerchief, that blended into the greenhouse surroundings perfectly!

This botanical shoot has since been featured in the March edition of Your Yorkshire Wedding magazine over a 3 page spread. I am so pleased to have a full feature in a local wedding magazine!
