Skipbridge Country Weddings Photography
I am super excited to share with you Aneta and Jack’s Skipbridge Country Weddings wedding in York. This place is f*cking amazing with so many quirky attributes. The couple tied the knot last month in September, just as the nights turned a little cooler and the sun setting a little sooner. The colour theme was a brilliant choice – grey and rose gold, my two favourite wedding colours! Their day was filled with vodka, laughs, outdoor games, a marquee and traditional Polish touches!
Skipbridge Farm Cottages
I joined Aneta and her bridesmaids for the morning preparations in the cottages next door. Everything was pretty chilled, so I went to photograph all the little details before the chaos started. Even the cottages are cool, I kept finding loads of little cute and quirky things lying around. This place is literally a photographers dream!
I managed to find time in the morning to photograph and explore Skipbridge farm itself. Surrounding the marquee was loads of animals! Llamas, horses, donkeys, ostriches, chickens.. even a black cat – who appears to have just moved in! Anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE animals. It was hard to tear myself away and actually get on with some work haha! The venue has loads of weird and wonderful item’s dotted about, from trucks to boats, and sheds to HOBBIT HOLES! Where else are you going to find these things?!
Nun Monkton Church Wedding
The ceremony was held less than 10 minutes away in a little church in Nun Monkton. This is by far the most beautiful church I have come across. The bare stone walls and long driveway make for such lovely photos. CUTENESS ALERT – Watch out for Jack shedding a tear as he watches his beautiful bride-to-be walk down the aisle. Everybody say “awwwww!” 🙂 After the ceremony, the couple drowned in confetti before heading back to Skipbridge Country Weddings.
Polish wedding traditions
As Aneta is originally from Poland, it was only right they incorporated some Polish wedding traditions into their day. These included blessings before the ceremony, eating bread on arrival, throwing glasses behind them and drinking lots and lots of vodka! The couple totally made their day their own with lots of personal touches throughout the day. Jack was made to dance for Aneta’s shoes back after the meal – this was hilarious! The wedding cake and evening buffet was made by friends and family.
Aneta and Jack, your Skipbridge Country Weddings wedding was amazing! I feel like I’ve made two new best friends and wish you all the best in your new life together! Keep in touch! 🙂
It was mega hard trying to condense all your photos into one blog post.. but here it is! Thank you to Sadie Ferriday for second shooting with me
