Thoresby Riding Hall Wedding
I was over the moon when Katie and Simon booked me for their Thoresby Riding Hall wedding. It was my first trip to this beautiful, rustic venue, but I will certainly be making more in the future. The couple chose a purple/peacock theme to match with their alternative, fun style.
Thoresby Riding Hall is set in the heart of Sherwood Forest in North Nottinghamshire. This beautiful venue features bold, red brick Victorian arches, with plenty of fairy lights and character for that added touch. The grounds are huge with plenty of photography backdrops and cute redbrick buildings in the surrounding areas. This barn style wedding venue should be at the top of your list when looking for a special, alternative venue in the area.
Fun and Alternative Couple Portraits
Katie and Simon booked me for my documentary style wedding photography as they’re not massively into posing. The couple are all about having fun, and this shows in their photographs. After shooting their engagement session, I knew full well the two of them would be up for being silly and throwing each other around. A trip in to the woods was a great idea as we managed to capture Katie and Simon being themselves. After some time alone, the couple headed back into Thoresby Riding Hall for their meal and speeches. The speeches brought on tears and of course a lot of laughs!
The DJ and bucking broncho provided the entertainment for the rest of the night. It’s not often I see guests up dancing before the “first dance” either! It certainly made for great photo’s when everyone started going crazy for Pendulum! 😀
Katie and Simon, I had a mega time with the two of you! Here’s a small selection of images from your awesome day!
Katie – “It’s a shame that it only goes up to 5 stars because I can’t rate Stevie highly enough. We aren’t the most comfortable couple in front of a camera and we had definitely has a few too many welcome drinks but despite that Stevie took some amazing couple photos. The whole wedding was photographed perfectly without us even knowing she was there. I look at the shots she got and it takes me right back to the moment because of the beautifully timed and framed photos.
Stevie has gone the extra mile when it came to the service we received, even to the point of going back through the photos to find exta shots of my uncle who sadly passed away not long after the wedding.
We can’t thank her enough for what she did for us both on the day and the time surrounding it. She is the Mary Poppins of wedding photography- practically perfect in every way”
