Whinstone View Wedding Photography
Laura and Rachel tied the knot at Whinstone View, North Yorkshire on a sunny Sunday in August 2018. The whole day was so much more than what I was expecting! The venue and lodges are just stunning, the girls looked amazing, the surrounding area was perfect for couple portraits and everyone was in such a great mood! This was my first trip to Whinstone View and I’m seriously looking forward to going again! Laura and Rachel chose this venue based on the relaxed, informal and beautiful setting. They particularly liked the huge williow tree and lawn games.
Whinstone View is situated near Great Ayton and has luxury lodges and a spa onsite, as well as a purpose built wedding barn called Wray’s Barn. Wray’s Barn is self contained, meaning you have exclusive use of the barn, lawn, courtyard and bar!
Relaxed Bridal Preparations in the Blue Lodge
I started the day with Laura and her bridesmaids (and family!) in the blue lodge. The champagne was flowing and everyone was super excited for the rest of the day. The bridesmaids wore a beautiful metallic coral dress – with pockets! POCKETS! Whilst I popped out to take photos of the Barn and ceremony set up I bumped into Rachel who was greeting their guests. The only thing Rachel wanted to know was whether Laura was okay! Aww! Their ceremony took place outdoors in the courtyard at 3pm. I love a late afternoon wedding and so do your guests 🙂
Roseberry Topping Couple Portraits
After the outdoor ceremony, we drove for a few minutes and stopped outside Roseberry Topping to take some relaxed, couple portraits. If you’re not sure where that is, just follow the big mountain! haha Laura and Rachel were brave enough to break into a field (#sorrynotsorry) where we then went for a little walk and took some time away.
One of my favourite parts of a wedding day is the couple portraits. I love capturing the moments between two people who are so in love – it makes me heart melt! It’s always a great time to build on the bond you have too and have fun whilst nobodies around!
Rustic Whinstone View Wedding Barn
Upon returning to the rustic barn venue, the guests were seated for food and speeches. It was an ideal time for Laura and Rachel to have a quick go on the croquet and giant jenga! The barn was dressed with fairy lights and coral florals, as well as the personal touches the couple had added themselves.Â
Laura and Rachel, I had such a great day with you and your guests! Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your wedding day! Here’s a selection of my favourites! 🙂
